The Huntington County Leadership Academy Board of Directors has announced the dates for the 2014 academy. A total of 10 classes will be held with class facilitator Ed Vessels.

The first class session will be January 14, 2014 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Horace Mann Educational Center. Classes will meet bi-weekly until May 20, 2014. The additional class sessions will be from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. also at the Horace Mann Educational Center. Graduation ceremonies will be May 20.

The purpose of this class is to help the participants enhance their leadership skills and use those skills to maintain and improve the quality of life in Huntington County. They will also perform exercises and class discussions on team building, public speaking, “136 Effective Presentation Tips” and two books – “Good to Great and the Social Sector” and “Unwritten Laws of Business.”

Students will also facilitate a panel discussion and organize and execute a public service project for the community. A tuition fee is charged per student.
