HCL announces Leadership Academy dates

The Huntington County Leadership board of directors has announced the dates for the 2017 Leadership Academy. The classes will begin on January 18, 2017 and continue until May 31, 2017.

The first class session will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. at the Purdue Extension Office, 1350 S. Jefferson Street. Classes will meet every other Tuesday until May 31, 2017. All class sessions will be from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Purdue Extension Office. Graduation ceremonies will be announced at a later date.

The purpose and goal of this class is to help the participants enhance their leadership skills and use those skills to maintain and improve the quality of life in Huntington County. Students will learn about getting to know Huntington County; identifying leadership styles; leading through interpersonal communication; building a healthy community; managing conflict; getting involved and serving on non-profit boards; exploring economic development and education in Huntington County; learning how county government works and exploring diversity in Huntington County and more. The tuition fee is $320 per student. If there are not 13 students enrolled by December 29, the class will be canceled.
