Posted: Friday, February 26, 2016

Huntington Area Recreational Trails Association (HARTA) and the Historic Forks of the Wabash invite you to participate in the 1st annual Forks of the Wabash Uncorked Wine and Beer Tasting Event. The event will be held July 15, 2016, from 5:30 to 9 p.m., rain or shine, at the Historic Forks of the Wabash Park, 3010 W. Park Drive.

This is a premier tasting event with a goal of creating awareness of the Huntington County trail system and the History of the Forks of the Wabash. Huntington Area Recreational Trails Association is dedicated to the designing, developing, constructing, and maintaining of Huntington area multi-use public trails and greenways, and to engage in funding and fundraising in support of that mission. Historic Forks of the Wabash is dedicated to the continued preservation, protection, enhancement, and interpretation of the history of the geographical area known as the Forks of the Wabash.

The goals for the 1st annual Forks of the Wabash Uncorked event are to sell at least 300 tickets and raise $20,000. All the proceeds and contributions from the event will go towards supporting the development and maintenance of trails in Huntington along with helping to preserve and protect the Forks of the Wabash. Tickets for the event will be $35 at the gate, $30 in advance, and $10 for a designated driver. Plans are well under way, and planners are very excited to bring a new event that should prove to be both fun and engaging for anyone wanting to tickle their palettes with good wine, brew, music, and food.

HARTA is asking for the public’s support in becoming an event sponsor. Together HARTA feels they can help make the goals realities, and provide needed monies to support the continued development and enhancement of trails and history, making the community an even better place to raise a family. Sponsors will benefit by being recognized in a variety of ways. To ensure that your support is recognized, HARTA asks that you provide a logo by sending it to the Huntington Area Recreational Trails Association, e-mail by March 21 at noon.

There are five sponsorships to consider: Estate - $4,000; Vineyard - $2,000; Barrel - $1,000; Keg - $500; and Bottle - $250.

Your organization may also choose to provide in-kind services, gift certificates, appetizers, soda, and water, or parking area, which will be provided to guests. Also items for door prizes that will be given away at close of the event are needed. HARTA welcomes any contributions.
