Hammel to be at library for talk, book signing

Sports lovers and Indiana University basketball fans are invited to join Huntington native and author Bob Hammel at the Huntington City-Township Public Library on Tuesday, May 14 at 6 p.m. Hammel will be available to sign books and answer questions.

A journalist and lifelong resident of Indiana, Hammel is the author of twelve books, including several on former IU basketball coach Bobby Knight. For 30 years, the celebrated sports journalist has reported on a variety of games and athletes, the Olympics, Pan American Games, 23 NCAA Final Fours, Major League Baseball playoffs and World Series, college football bowl games, Muhammad Ali’s last championship victory and dozens of Indiana high school basketball Final Fours.

Hammel will discuss his experiences writing about sports throughout his life, and his latest book, a memoir entitled “Last Press Bus Out of Middletown.” Copies of his memoir will be available for those wanting to purchase a copy. This meet and greet is free and for all ages.
