Hammel retires from First Federal Savings Bank

Dee Ann Hammel joined First Federal Savings Bank as a customer service representative on October 13, 1975. After 45 plus years of service and leadership, Dee Ann is retiring from the bank. According to First Federal, her guidance and dedication have made First Federal Savings Bank the institution that it is today. Hammel’s last day of work was December 31, 2020.

During her career, Hammel advanced from her initial entry level position to senior vice president and chief operating officer. Hammel worked in all areas of the bank over her tenure, and spent most of her time managing operations and overseeing the compliance function of the bank.

“Dee Ann is First Federal,” states president and CEO, Michael Zahn. “Her leadership, knowledge, professionalism and class helped create the bank’s culture and was influential to our success.” During her time at FFSB, Hammel was able to work with three generations of the Zahn family.

As Hammel enters the next stage of her life, she looks forward to spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren’s events. First Federal Savings Bank would like to thank Dee Ann for all that she has meant to the bank and this community. More importantly, they wish her joy and happiness in her retirement knowing she will always be a part of the First Federal family.
