Ground broken for Learning Center expansion

Posted: Friday, March 5, 2021

Ground was broken yesterday, March 4, for a 20,000 square foot expansion to the Huntington County Community Learning Center (LC). Located at 2201 N. Jefferson Street, the LC will cover almost 50,000 square feet.

The vision of the LC: that all citizens have access to local educational offerings that foster life-long learning. With this in mind, the added space will create additional room for the classes that are currently served at the LC with room to grow. The architect for the building project is Barton-Coe-Vilamaa, construction manager will be Hagerman Construction and excavating will be accomplished by Ironclad Excavating.

According to Hagerman Construction, preparation work underground will take place for the next couple of months. The LC above ground construction will begin around May with an anticipated completion at the start of the 2021-2022 school year in September.

Contact the LC at (260) 356-2858, option 2, for more information.
