Posted: Friday, February 12, 2016

The Huntington facility of Gerdau, 25 Commercial Road, has achieved one year without an OSHA recordable incident on January 21, 2016. According to a press release from Gerdau, this was the first time the Huntington location has achieved this accomplishment.

The release went on to say it has taken great effort and growth by each employee to reach that milestone. The Huntington facility also reached one year without a Lost Time Accident (LTA) on June 10, 2015 by keeping their focus on the importance of maintaining a safe work environment so that every person can go home safe to their family every day.

“I am extremely proud of the accomplishment of the entire team in Huntington. Achieving a milestone as great as one year without an OSHA recordable injury happens through the total efforts of our employees and contractors working together toward the common goal of building and maintaining a safe work environment,” said Huntington’s plant general manager Mike Cash. “I congratulate our entire team and look forward to many more years of accident free work.”
