Friends of Library sponsor Boutique

Posted: Friday, November 25, 2011

The Friends of the Library for Huntington City-Township/Markle Public Libraries will sponsor a Holiday Book Boutique from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 3 at Huntington City-Township Public Library, 255 West Park Drive. Items on sale will include high quality used books, movies, music and other items of gift-giving quality. The sale is open to the public. Children are especially invited to attend this sale and shop for holiday gifts for parents and siblings.

Donations of nearly new and very gently used books and other items for the Holiday Book Boutique are being accepted at the Main Library from Monday, November 28 to Wednesday, November 30. For more information, contact the Library at (260) 356-0824.

The Friends of the Library for Huntington City-Township/Markle Public Libraries is a group of people who believe in the Library and the importance of its services.  Friends demonstrate their belief by supporting Library activities, securing materials and services, and promoting the Library as an active, dynamic education and information center in the community.

Ongoing projects include providing library activity packets for hospitalized children; delivering books to nursing homes, the Huntington County Jail, the VFW hospital, and Malta House; funding and promoting library activities and other special programs for children and young adults; and funding annual Summer Reading Programs for all ages. Annual fund raising projects include operating the magazine recycling/resale booth year round, offering used books for sale in the Friends' Coffee Shop area, and sponsoring the annual Used Book Sale in June and the Holiday Book Boutique in December.
