Posted: Friday, August 10, 2012

The Fort Wayne International Airport and the 122nd Fighter Wing make the Fort Wayne Air show the perfect event to bring the family out to for a great time. The free air show activities are Labor Day weekend, from Friday, August 31 to Sunday, September 2. Sponsors for the event are also needed.

From supersonic-speed military jets to gravity-defying aerobatic acts to rocket-propelled trucks, parachutists and a host of on-the-ground displays and activities, a day at the Fort Wayne Air show will be a fantastic and memorable experience. The main events of the air show are Saturday and Sunday with the gates opening at 9 a.m. and closing at 5 p.m. each day of the two-day show. Free parking will be available at two off-site locations with buses available for transporting spectators onto the base.

Premium seating is available on the air show’s website and at the information booths on site day of the show. A list of performers includes: The U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute team, Indy Boy’s Extreme Jet Vehicles, Mohr Barnstorming, F-22 Raptor Demo Team, B-25 DAV Flight Team and the P51D Mustang Heritage Flight.

The schedule is not solidified until the morning of the air show to allow for security, safety, weather and operational concerns. Seating is not included with general admission tickets, so please feel free to bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on. The air show will have a large variety of food available for purchase, including local barbecue, local cuisines, friend food specialties, dessert specialties, signature salads, boxed lunches, reception stations and other concession services.
