Forks to celebrate with Christmas Tree Walk

Posted: Friday, October 28, 2011

The Historic Forks of the Wabash will celebrate the Christmas season with its seventh annual Christmas Tree Walk. The display to be held in the new room addition will be open to the public on Saturday, December 3, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, December 4, 1 to 4 p.m., and is free of charge.

Businesses, organizations or individuals interested in decorating a tree for the event may choose a pre-lighted tree or one without lights. The Forks will purchase the trees with a charge of $15 to the decorator. This year wreaths are also offered for decoration for $7. A sign (no larger than 8 ½ x 11) to publicize the business or organization will be needed to place along with the tree or wreath. An appropriate theme and people friendly decoration should be chosen for the tree.

Trees or wreaths may be decorated on Thursday, December 1 from 9 until noon and/or Friday, December 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. Participants may call 356-1903 to pick up an entry in advance and return it during decorating hours.

A ticket will be drawn for each entry and that ticket holder will win the tree or wreath at 4 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets to enter the drawing will be $1 per ticket. If interested in decorating a tree or wreath or sponsoring one, contact the Historic Forks on Tuesday or Thursday mornings by November 16 at 356-1903.
