Forks' Christmas Tree Walk winners announced

The Historic Forks of the Wabash held the annual Christmas Tree Walk December 7 and 8. Twenty-three decorated trees were part of the event provided by businesses and organizations in the community.

Individuals visiting the Christmas Tree Walk voted on their favorite tree or wreath. Drawings were then held and the winners of each tree and wreath have been announced. The two rows of trees began with The Tam-a-Sak tree, filled with gift cards and candy. It was won by Debbie Wiley. Dalton Newcomb won the Beacon Credit Union “Mr. Snow Man” tree. The Town and Country Flowers tree followed with 12 Months of Christmas, sponsored by McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, and was won by Terry Harrell who will receive a bouquet of flowers each month for a year.

Hatpin Has Beens tree, sponsored by Wright Hair Design, was won by Amy Mattox; Viking New Tech at HNHS, sponsored by First Federal Savings Bank, was won by Keaton Jones; Honey Bee’s Tea Room at the Purviance House, sponsored by Jean Gernand, won by Janna Teusch; Little Blessings Childcare Ministry, sponsored by Bailey-Love Mortuary won byTom Herzog and Huntington Nursery & Florist, Sylvia Mills.

S.O.S. Students at the Youth Services Bureau, sponsored by Terry Reckard, won by Alice Plasterer; Piecemakers Quilt Club, won by Stephanie Jerabek; Huntington County Retired Teachers Association, Rebecca Landers; Izaak Walton League, Nick Scheiber; Master Gardeners of Huntington County, Paula Kuiper-Moore; Huntington University Professional Programs, Gail Plasterer; Sigma Eta Fine Arts Sorority Zeta Chapter, Pat Hartley and St. Peter Lutheran Quilters, sponsored by Juergens Do-It Center, Donna Decker.

Psi Iota Xi Sorority’s tree was won by Leyton Velez; Kilsoquah Hands of Friendship, sponsored by Deal-Rice Funeral Home, Liz Saunders; Millers Merry Manor, Janice Smith; Boys & Girls Club, sponsored by Sell Chiropractic, won by Duane Hougendoubler; Lake City Bank, Janice Neher; Bippus State Bank, Cathy Johnson and Edward Jones – Jim Scheiber, Jenny Scher.

Decorated wreaths were also part of the Christmas Tree Walk. Those winning wreaths include Bippus State Bank wreath, Shirley Teusch; Bailey-Love Mortuary, Johanna Lange; Wreaths by Nadine, Midge Decker; Heritage ofHuntington, Janet Gordon; Victory Noll Center, Lisa Harbuck and the Parkview Huntington Family YMCA, Sharon Solloway.
