Forks' ABWA offering scholarships

The Forks of the Wabash American Business Women’s Association is offering one Impact Scholarship of $1000 that applies toward the fall 2013 through spring 2014 school year to a student seeking a technical or associate’s degree. An additional Impact Scholarship of $2000 will be awarded to a student seeking a bachelor’s degree or higher.

Those applying for the scholarships must be female, a resident of Huntington County, have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and enrolled in at least 12 credit hours per semester in any post-secondary education. This includes technical schooling, community college, a liberal arts education, non-traditional or any post-secondary institution.

Applicants must complete an online application and submit a biographical sketch, professional letter of reference from teachers, professors, counselors or employers. A transcript of the applicant’s courses which have been completed including the first semester of the current school year must be mailed directly from the applicant’s school.

Three applications must be submitted for each Impact Scholarship awarded and the board of trustees will review the first ten applicants who meet the eligibility criteria. Applications must be completed online by the applicants.

The deadline to apply is March 31, 2013 and scholarships will be awarded at the ABWA banquet meeting May 15, 2013.
