Follies plans Meet the Director night April 10

Posted: Friday, March 31, 2017

Calling all singers, dancers, actors and stage-hungry hams with no specific skills; WE WANT YOU to be in the cast for this year’s USO themed Follies.

This will be the 16th production of Tri Kappa’s Red Stocking Follies. Potential cast members are invited to attend the traditional Meet the Director Party on Monday, April 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the New Huntington Theater 528 N. Jefferson Street. For the third consecutive production, the directors that potential cast members will meet are locals Rich Najuch and Joel Froomkin, owners of The New Huntington Theater.

Froomkin and Najuch have written this year’s show with the theme “Canteen Capers.” They will have several skits ready to be performed during the May 4, 5 and 6 shows. There are several different acts to participate. You do not have to be of great skill to be a part of this show. The cast is made up of all local talent, all amateurs who just want to have fun, meet some great people and make lifelong friends. You are invited to the Meet the Director party and find out more details about the show. The Meet the Director event allows potential cast members to get an idea of the direction the show will take and find out just what is involved to be a part of Follies.

Anyone in the community, age 18 and older, is welcome to join the cast. No special skills are required, as some skits merely require bodies on stage. The show can accommodate any number of cast members.

Director Rich Najuch stated, “I’m very excited to be working on the Follies show again for the Tri Kappa Ladies. I’ve had a great time working on the past two shows, and can’t wait to get started on this year’s fundraiser. There’s a spot for anyone who wants to be part of the show, whether you are a singer, dancer, comedian or just want to be a part of the crowd, you should join us for Meet the Director and find out all about how you can take part. Anyone who wants to join us for Canteen Capers is definitely going to make wonderful new friends, have plenty of laughs and get to have a great time contributing to a great cause!”

Follies performances are May 4, 5 and 6 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 if purchased in advance, and $10 at the door. Tickets are available from any Tri Kappa member, Bippus State Bank and First Federal Savings Bank north location only. A limited number of Patron tickets are also available. The Patron ticket consists of two VIP tickets, preferred seating, refreshments and the Patron’s names are listed in the program book. Patron tickets are available by contacting Jolene Paolillo at by April 18. The show will take place at The New Huntington Theater 528 N. Jefferson Street.
