First Career Development Expo held May 14

Ivy Tech Community College Northeast held the first Huntington County Career Development Expo on Thursday, May 14. The expo was held at the Huntington Vocational Technical Center, the future home of The Huntington Learning Center, 2201 N. Jefferson Street, from 3 to 5 p.m.

Those in attendance learned about current and upcoming job opportunities in welding, CNC, manufacturing and more. Representatives from Ivy Tech Community College Northeast and WorkOne Northeast were on hand to help those in attendance see how they can reach their career goals. Employers from Huntington, Whitley and Wells counties were also available to discuss employment possibilities.

Those firms from Huntington County participating were Ecolab, Parkview Huntington Hospital, Bryan Machine, Novae Corporation, Wayne Metals, Intri-Cut, UTEC, LKQ Transwheel and Pro Resources. Whitley County was represented by 80/20 and C&A Tool. Also in attendance were Ivy Tech, WorkOne and Lowe’s.
