Expectations! Markle's Premiere Event Center opens

Caterers, florists, photographers and a group of other food and related service individuals entertained the public at the open house and Huntington County Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting ceremony Saturday, June 11 at Expectations! Markle’s Premiere Event Center. The business is owned by Jon and Tracy Goetz and is located at 193 E. Morse Street, the former Markle Furniture location.

The building housing the Expectations! Event Center has been completely remodeled and is currently accepting reservations for just about any kind of event, according to Tracy Goetz. From wedding receptions, reunions, corporate events and private parties to functions for clubs and non-profit organizations, the facility can comfortably entertain 300 people. It is also a non-smoking facility.

The new business utilizes three of the five parts of the former furniture store. One the rooms is a reception hall with a walk-up bar; one room can be set up for dining and has a small dance floor and another room is set up for dining. A former loading dock has been renovated into a handicapped-accessible entrance in the back.
