Expectations! Event Center opens in Markle

Posted: Friday, June 3, 2011

The Expectations! Event Center has opened in Markle at 193 E. Morse Street, the former location of Markle Furniture. Jon and Tracy Goetz are the owners of the new business and also own The Pickle in downtown Markle.

The building housing the Expectations! Event Center has been completely remodeled and is currently accepting reservations for just about any kind of event, according to Tracy Goetz. From wedding receptions, reunions, corporate events and private parties to functions for clubs and non-profit organizations, the facility can comfortably entertain 300 people. It is also a non-smoking facility.

Expectations! will be holding an open house for the public on Saturday, June 11 with a Huntington County Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of the new business at 3:30 p.m.

Goetz said she is inviting a lot of area businesses to the open house, including caterers and florists, who would benefit from doing business with Expectations! The Goetz’s see this as an investment in the community of Markle, which they fell in love when they came to town. The community has given them a lot of support, and according to Goetz, this new venture is one way to keep the downtown alive.
