Posted: Friday, October 4, 2019

Trinity United Methodist Church’s Evensong Concert Series continues on Sunday, October 13 with an encore performance by pianist Kenneth Xiaoling Jiang at 4 p.m. Jiang previously performed at the church on June 23 and was invited back by Greg Otis, the church’s director of worship arts ministry.

Jiang will perform Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1. Jiang started playing piano at the age of four. He began teaching piano at the age of 14 and has developed a dynamic, accelerated piano method he calls “Piano UnLimited.” He attended the Julliard School in New York City and later received a Bachelor of Piano Performance from the Manhattan School of Music.

Jiang is a composer and arranger, and he has written transcriptions of major piano concertos, such as Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concertos No. 2 and No. 3 and Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, Tchaikovsky’s Concerto No. 1 and Ravel’s Concerto for the Left Hand, adding the orchestra parts into the piano parts.

Jiang resides in Fort Wayne and attends Christ Community Church, where he is the pianist.

The concert is free to attend. The church is located at 530 Guilford Street, and attendees should enter through Door 7.
