Evensong Concert Series returns on February 16

Trinity United Methodist Church will present an Evensong Concert Series featuring Dr. Hamilton Tescarollo, pianist, on Sunday, February 16 at 4 p.m. Tescarollo will perform pieces including F.J. Haydn, Sonata in C Major, Hob. XVI:50; J.S. Bach/Busoni, Chaconne; F. Chopin, Impromptu No. 2, Op. 36; Fantaisie, Op. 49; Fantaisie-Impromptu, Op. 66. Closing with a group of pieces by Brazilian composers Henrique Oswald, Ernesto Nazareth, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Camargo Guarnieri and Osvaldo Lacerda.

Since his debut with the São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra (OSESP), Tescarollo has performed both as a solo and collaborative pianist in the United States, Canada, Europe and South America. Recent concert engagements have taken him to venues in Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Croatia, France, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and the United States including a performance of George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue at Carnegie Hall’s Isaac Stern Auditorium. Also, an active recording artist, he has several published CD’s to his credit.

Tescarollo currently serves as Associate Professor of Music and Director of Keyboard Studies at Purdue University Fort Wayne, where he teaches piano and piano-related courses and coordinates the keyboard area. Previously he has held teaching positions at Faculdade Santa Marcelina, The Municipal School of Music of São Paulo and Arizona State University. He is the founder and director of the Gene Marcus Piano Competition and the Gene Marcus Piano Camp & Festival. In addition, he frequently serves as a master class clinician and competition adjudicator.

Tescarollo holds piano performance degrees from Arizona State University (D.M.A. and M.M.), Faculdade Santa Marcelina (B.M.) and Escola Municipal de Música de São Paulo. His main teachers were Gilberto Tinetti and Caio Pagano.
