Evangelical Christmas Choir to present concert

Posted: Thursday, December 6, 2018

The Evangelical Community Christmas Choir will be presenting the Christmas musical Christmas Is in the Heart, Sharing the Joy of God with Us, on Thursday, December 13 and Friday, December 14 at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, December 16 at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. All performances are at Evangelical United Methodist Church, 1000 Flaxmill Road. This is the sixth Christmas musical that the community choir will be performing.

The musical was created by Kenna Turner West, Dale Mathews and Steve W. Mauldin. Christmas Is in the Heart captures the sights and sounds of Christmas that are all around us – the singing of carols, and the lighting of the Christmas tree. This musical features songs that take us back to the simple joys of childhood and songs that share the timeless truths of that first Christmas night. Songs in this beautiful musical include Hearts Waiting (Joy to the World), Here We Come a Caroling, Festival of Carols, Christmas Is in the Heart, Heaven and Nature Sing, Jesus, Our Noel, Oh, What a Glorious Night, God With Us and The Name of Emmanuel.

Choir members are from College Park United Brethren Church, Lancaster Wesleyan Church, Lighthouse Assembly, New Hope United Brethren Church, Solid Rock United Methodist Church, St. Peter’s First Community Church and Evangelical United Methodist Church. The choir is directed by Mark Kiefer.

Admission is free, and a freewill offering will be taken for Huntington County Relay for Life.
