Eagle Watch programs begin at Salamonie

The Salamonie Interpretive Center will offer Eagle Watch programs on Saturday, February 2 and Sunday, February 3 from 3 to 8 p.m. each day. New winter hours began for the Interpretive Center, effective January 14, and will continue through April 5. The hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Regular hours will begin on April 6, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A short program will begin the Eagle Watch event followed by participants driving to some well-known eagle spots. The drives finish at roost sites to watch bald eagles fly in for the night. Participants should have a full gas tank, snacks, drinks, binoculars, cameras, spotting scopes and dress for the weather.

The afternoon/evening is on a first come, first served basis and limited van transportation is available through pre-registration. Hot chocolate and coffee will be available for a donation. Call the Interpretive Center, 3691 S. New Holland Road, Andrews, at (260) 468-2127.
