Ditzler named People's Choice Award winner

Posted: Friday, August 8, 2014

Kelly Ditzler was the winner of the Splash on the Wabash People’s Choice Award for the painted rain barrels that were auctioned the evening of the Splash on the Wabash Event on July 26 in the Marsh parking lot. Ten rain barrels were painted by local non-profit organizations and artists.

All of the rain barrels were sold at auction that evening. The event encouraged the use of gathering rain water to maintain gardens throughout the year. Master Gardeners were stationed by the rain barrel auction area to answer any questions regarding the utilization of rain barrels.

Shown in the photo is Paula Whiting, left, of Lake City Bank and Cheryl Jarret, right, of Huntington County Soil & Water Conservation as they present the People’s Choice Award plaque to Kelly Ditzler. Kelly’s rain barrel painted like a Koi pond received the most monetary votes at the Splash on the Wabash.
