Council on Aging to hold Chili Cook-Off

Posted: Friday, September 21, 2012

The Huntington County Council on Aging will hold its first annual Chili Cook-Off fundraiser. The community is invited to “cook and compete or just eat” at the Council on Aging’s future location at 1450 West Park Drive on Saturday, October 13, 12 Noon to 3 p.m.

Those wishing to participate as a vendor will need to prepare three gallons of their favorite chili and display it in three ounce cups. A chance to win a “Whoo Wee Braggin’ Rights” trophy will be part of the event. Those wishing to “just eat” will need to bring a $5 donation to taste all the chili they want. Hot dogs, chips and brownies will also be available for purchase.

Dick Hawley, Council on Aging president, is hoping to have 20 to 25 vendors participate in the Chili Cook-Off and invites the community to join them on October 13 for an afternoon of fun.

For more information call the Senior Center, currently located in downtown Huntington in the Courthouse Annex, at (260) 359-4410.
