Posted: Friday, July 19, 2019

A salute to the music of the 1960’s will rock Roanoke’s Cottage Event Center Friday, August 16 at 7:30 p.m. The music will be presented by The Bobby Swag Band and the event will raise funds for The Roanoke Public Library.

The group is made up of: Bob Sweigert, bass guitar and vocals; John Escosa, guitars and lead vocals; Jeff Degitz, drums and lead vocals and Kara Jaurigue, vocals. The performance will salute to the songs of 50 years ago, 1969, including the 50th Anniversary of the Woodstock Festival. The date of the event, August 16, coincides with the biggest day of the iconic musical gathering. The Roanoke event will even feature door prizes acquired from the official Woodstock museum in Bethel Woods, New York.

Tickets are $12 and may be purchased by calling (260) 483-3508. Tickets are also on sale at John’s Meat Market in Roanoke, The Roanoke Public Library, or online at cottageeventcenter.com.

Other upcoming events at the Cottage Event Center include a night of Classic Country Western and Texas Swing by the Carolyn Martin Band on September 20; the return of ’50s and ’60s band The Mooncats for The Roanoke Police Department on October 18; the 7th annual Toys for Tots Holiday Concert on December 7 starring The Brat Pack, where attendees are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to share and the New Year’s Eve “Beach Party” Dinner & Show starring the return of the Tropical Style Island Vibe.
