Contest winners announce opening of store

Posted: Thursday, June 20, 2013

The Huntington County Visitor Bureau has announced that their business plan contest winner, Antiqology, will open today, June 21 at 10 a.m. Adam and Rebecca Hanson were the winners of a business plan contest which awarded a year’s free rent in the Visitor Bureau’s adjoining building located at 401 N. Jefferson St., on the corners of Market and Jefferson streets.

Antiqology is a retail store, specializing in the blending of old and new merchandise. They sell unique antiques, vintage, handmade and repurposed items. The newly renovated shop will also feature a large variety of vintage sodas and hand-dipped ice cream.

The contest was designed to help bring a tourism-related business to the downtown. “Antiqology will certainly appeal to many out-of-town customers and we are hoping that it will inspire other types of retail businesses to settle in the downtown as a result,” stated Tina Bobilya, executive director of the Huntington County Visitor Bureau. She continued, “Visitors are looking for new and unique shopping experiences and we are confident that Antiqology will quickly become a place of destination.”
