Community invited to Operation Save Prom event

Posted: Thursday, April 13, 2017

The community is invited to attend and witness a mock accident and its aftermath on Friday, April 28 at Huntington North High School. The event will take place on the west side of the high school next to the tennis courts, and in the auditorium of the high school.

Students and those attending will experience the effects of poor decision-making, through the many elements of being distracted while driving and an alcohol-related crash. Students will also witness injuries, a fatality, an arrest, court scene and a funeral service.

The hope of the event is to prompt students on the dangers and consequences of texting and driving, and supports them in making healthy and safe choices as they celebrate their senior prom.
