Communication specialist joins Parkview

Parkview Huntington Hospital Chief Operating Officer Darlene Garrett announced that Deborah Agler has joined the hospital’s staff as communications specialist. Agler’s responsibilities include writing and editing hospital publications, as well as handling media relations and community relations.

“Deborah has extensive experience in the field of communications, which will be of great benefit to Parkview and to the citizens of Huntington County. We are very glad to have her on the Parkview team,” Garrett said.

Prior to joining Parkview, Agler served as executive director of university communications for Indiana Tech. She was previously a professor of professional communications for Taylor University at the college’s Fort Wayne campus and also held positions in corporate communications management. She has a master’s degree in professional communication from Purdue University.

“I’m happy to have the opportunity to be part of such a worthy mission as healthcare,” Agler said. ”I’m looking forward to working with Parkview’s physicians and staff and becoming involved in the Huntington community and the surrounding area.”

Agler began her duties as communications specialist on Monday, July 2.
