City offers ten vehicles for sale by auction

The City of Huntington is offering ten vehicles for sale by auction through sealed bids to the Board of Works. Bids must be submitted on a bid form available at the Clerk-Treasurer or Mayor’s office.

Sealed bids must be submitted to the City Clerk-Treasurer located on the second floor of the City Building, 300 Cherry Street, Huntington, Indiana, 46750.  Bids must be in a sealed envelope, marked “Vehicle Bid” with the corresponding vehicle number on the outside of the envelope.

All vehicles will be sold “as is” with no warranties either expressed or implied.  Vehicles may be inspected at the City Services Department located at 634 Webster Street from Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Vehicles include a red 1984 International dump truck, blue 1991 GMC flatbed truck, red 1998 Chevy pickup truck, red 1994 Ford dump truck with under blade, white 1998 Chevy 2500 pickup truck 4X4, red 1990 GMC 1-ton truck, grey 1993 Chevrolet pickup truck, white 2000 Chevy 350 van, green 1998 Ford F-150 pickup truck and a black 2003 GMC Yukon.

Initial bids will be opened and read aloud at the Board of Public Works and Safety meeting at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2013 in the Mayor’s Conference Room located on the third floor of the City Building.  Following the initial bid opening, bids will be received and opened at the Board of Public Works and Safety meeting on Monday, July 1 with the final bids opened Monday, July 15.  All Board of Public Works and Safety meetings begin at 3:30 p.m. in the Mayor’s Conference Room in the City Building.  After the initial bid opening, additional bids may be submitted until 3:30 p.m. July 15.  Late bids will be returned unopened.

Bids received at each meeting will be posted on the City of Huntington Web Site, www.huntington.in.us, in the City Services section. The highest bidder will be notified shortly after the July 15 Board of Public Works and Safety meeting.  Successful bidders must sign an Asset Purchase Agreement.  A copy of that agreement will be provided upon request.

All vehicle markings referring to the “City of Huntington” or “Huntington Utilities” must be removed within 30 days of sale. The Board of Public Works & Safety reserves the right to reject any bid and to remove items from the sale list at any time without notice.
