Christmas Open House held at City Building

Posted: Friday, December 8, 2017

A Christmas Open House and After Hours were held last evening in the third floor Council Chambers of the City Building. The open house was hosted by Mayor Brooks Fetters and his staff.

Artwork by first and second grade students from Flint Springs, Lincoln and Huntington Catholic elementary schools was on display throughout the public areas of the City Building. Clients of Pathfinder Services created a Santa mailbox that children attending the event could place their letters to Santa in. An area and supplies were provided for children to write letters. A trio of singers consisting of Matthew Blomeke, Leann Ringenberg and Sydnee Gradeless entertained the crowd throughout the late afternoon with musical selections. Light refreshments were served to those in attendance.

Shown in the photo at left are Matthew Blomeke, Leann Ringenberg and Sydnee Gradeless. This group of students is planning to team up with other students from Indiana on a singing tour through Europe this summer. The group is attending different events to help the student raise funds for their trip. The photo at right shows Miles Davis, Mayor Fetters’ grandson, as he places his letter to Santa Claus in Santa’s mailbox at last night’s Christmas Open House and After Hours in the Council Chambers in City Hall.
