Chamber sponsors small business workshop

Posted: Friday, July 19, 2019

Twenty-five individuals gathered at the Huntington City-Township Public Library on Thursday, July 16 to hear from expert business mentors from SCORE Northeast Indiana as they presented a free workshop on starting a small business. The workshop was coordinated by the Huntington County Chamber of Commerce, a SCORE branch office, and was free to all those attending.

The workshop featured five SCORE mentors each with many years of business experience ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small single proprietorships. Topics covered in the two-hour workshop included the Myths and Realities of Entrepreneurship, What’s in a Business Plan, Legal Business Structures and Financial Tools and How to Put It All Together.

The workshop educated those in attendance about SCORE’s ability to help anyone wanting to start a small business. Following the workshop representatives were available to answer questions.

If you or anyone you know are interested in starting a business, or would like to speak with someone about your business, please call the Chamber office at (260) 356-5300 and we can schedule a time for you to visit with a mentor to assist you with your questions.
