The Chamber of Commerce held a Lunch ’n Learn on Thursday, October 30 at the Horace Mann Education Center. The seminar was geared toward marketing and public relations strategy/tactic ideas for small businesses.

The presenter for the day was Amy Mattox, account executive and marketing specialist from Clear Elevation, LLC. She spoke on the many different facets of marketing and public relations with the audience of 25 individuals.

Mattox discussed the four P’s of marketing: Product, Pricing, Placement and Promotion. Mattox went on to say, “One the most import fundamentals of marketing is to know your customer. Keep a database of your customers. What they buy, when they buy it, who buys it and how often.”

“When putting together a marketing plan, be sure to include an executive summary, current marketing situation, objectives and issues, market strategy, action plan and evaluation plan,” said Mattox. She went on to say, “Be sure to do your research, build those relationships, and don’t forget to evaluate the results and don’t always try to sell your customers but serve them.”
