Chamber looking for 25 businesses

Posted: Friday, September 5, 2014

The Chamber of Commerce is beginning a new program as a value-added benefit for its members. Beginning Monday, December 1, the Member2Member Discount Program will be offered to Chamber members encouraging them to do business locally with other Chamber members.

To be a part of Member2Member, Chamber members offer a discount for purchases or services to other Chamber businesses. Participating businesses are asked to commit to the program through Thursday, December 31, 2015. Member2Member businesses will be contacted in September 2015 to determine if they will continue with their existing offers or want to change the offer. The following offer would be in effect from December 1, 2015 through December 31, 2016.

The Chamber is encouraging local businesses to become a part of the program. The idea is to help local individuals think “shop local” first. There is no cost to participate and the first 25 businesses to contact the Chamber will be accepted.

Member2Member businesses should determine a discount that is unique and applicable to their particular business. The more desirable the discount, the more traffic to the business.

The Member2Member card will be distributed to all 400 Chamber members and their employees, bringing approximately 5,000 shoppers to local businesses. The program is a way to promote and support the local business community and help local businesses generate more business and attain new customers.

The Chamber will send its membership renewal invoices beginning November 1. Once the Chamber has received membership payment for 2015, Member2Member discount cards will be sent to the business for all employees. The front side will show that the card is Member2Member discount card with the back showing all participating businesses and their individual discounts.

A list of all participating businesses and their particular discounts will be available on the Chamber website. The Chamber will also promote the Member2Member discount through Chamber Notes, the monthly newsletter and Facebook page. A sign will be provided to participating businesses showing that the particular business is a Member2Member business.

The Chamber encourages its members to take advantage of the discounts and keep the money earned in Huntington County local. Businesses that would like to participate in the Chamber of Commerce Member2Member Discount Program, please call the Chamber office at (260) 356-5300 to talk with a staff member. The deadline to register for the program is Friday, October 10, 2014.
