Chamber holds ribbon cutting at Diverse Kutz

Posted: Friday, January 15, 2021

Twin brothers Terry and Jerry Washington recently opened their barbershop, Diverse Kutz, at 1217 S. Jefferson Street, Unit B, across the parking lot from Ace Hardware. Both brothers are master barbers. Diverse Kutz offers haircuts, shaves, face exfoliation and eyebrow arch work.

Terry Washington has been cutting hair for 31 years, gaining experience in other barbershops around the area. He has had partnerships with other barbershops, but this is the first shop that Terry has owned.

“To be a master barber you’ve got to learn all of the ins and outs; it’s about dedication and learning everything,” said Terry.

According to Terry’s wife, Kimberly, “We have lived in Huntington for two years now, moving here from Fort Wayne. She said, “We love Huntington, it’s been a good place to raise the kids, and they love it here too.” She went on to say, “Huntington is a good place for a family and we want our customers to feel like a part of the family. We want to treat them with the highest respect.”

Cuts are available by appointment or walk-in on Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Thursday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Those who are looking to make an appointment at Diverse Kutz may contact Jerry at (260) 224-5487 or via e-mail at jhandz2741@gmail.com. Terry may be contacted at (260) 804-6307, or via e-mail at DiverseKutz01@gmail.com. The barbershop also makes appointments via Facebook.
