Posted: Friday, October 20, 2017

The Huntington County Chamber of Commerce held a meeting on Tuesday, October 17 to talk about political issues facing the small business community. U.S. Congressman Jim Banks and State Senator Andy Zay spoke to a group of about 18 local business owners and managers.

The town hall type meeting was held at the Chamber office where Congressman Banks shared his experience in Washington to his time in Indianapolis. Banks shared his vision and some of the “hot” topics facing not only the nation but Hoosiers right here in Huntington County.

Some of the topics discussed were the Affordable Care Act (ACA), tax reform, the opioid epidemic facing the nation, government entitlement programs, unemployment issues and much more.

The Chamber would like to thank Congressman Banks and Senator Zay for taking the time out of their busy schedules to visit with the Huntington business community.
