Chamber Breakfast Showcase on December 6

Posted: Friday, November 25, 2011

The Chamber of Commerce will hold their fourth quarterly Breakfast Showcase on Tuesday, December 6. XcelHR of Fort Wayne, Habitat for Humanity and the ReStore will be the presenting companies. Joe Burgess, business manager at Pace Auto Group, will emcee the event.

Bill Busch of XcelHR will speak to the attendees about what a Professional Employer Organization (PEO) is, why you should consider one and how a PEO works. Busch will further explain that implementing a PEO enables clients to cost-effectively outsource the management of human resources, employee benefits, payroll, payroll tax compliance and unemployment insurance claims. Busch says hiring a PEO allows the employer to concentrate on the operational and revenue-producing side of its operation and leave the human resources to the PEO. When you consider the liabilities associated with HR management, utilizing the services of an HR outsourcing company can benefit a business substantially.  HR outsourcing services can include an HR audit, employee handbook development, job descriptions, interview techniques, pre-hire assessment, performance reviews, discipline/exit interviews, employee & client surveys and government compliance.

Jean Wright, executive director of Habitat for Humanity, will talk about Habitat and the new ReStore which recently opened at 325 Hauenstein Road. Wright said there is a lot of growth in Habitat and the ReStore. Both speakers are well-versed about their respective businesses and this will be a very informational morning. Attendees are asked to bring at least ten business cards they can share with the group. This is going to be a great time to network with other professionals in Huntington County. The Breakfast is $10 for members and $15 for non-members and will begin at 7:30 a.m. and will conclude by 8:45 a.m. Door prizes will be awarded at the end of the event.
