Parkview Huntington Hospital and Huntington County have lost an amazing person, a true friend and a tireless advocate in Holly Sale. Holly, the hospital’s director of Rehabilitation and Wellness, passed away unexpectedly on June 30, and we will mourn her loss for a long time to come.

Over the past 39 years, Holly spent her astonishing energy and enthusiasm shaping not only the way we care for Parkview Huntington patients, but also the way our community works. She was active in her leadership of numerous local organizations, from the Parkview Boys and Girls Club to Huntington University. She invested her time, effort, and personal finances in giving others a hand and paving a path for their success.

Each day, she lived her philosophy that every person has value and deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion and civility. She was a person of strong faith, both in her Creator and in the goodness of people. She set an incredible example for the rest of us.

Holly loved brightening the day for others, and she was famous for surprising people with gifts. She understood that having anything is worthless unless you share it with others. She had a huge, generous heart, and she touched countless lives as leader, committee member, co-worker, resource, mentor, wife, neighbor and friend.

Hundreds of people have let us know how much they appreciated Holly by calling, emailing, sending cards, and finding other thoughtful ways to express their sympathy. We are so grateful for the support and truly appreciate their kind words.

From our Parkview Huntington Hospital family to yours, thank you! Thank you for celebrating Holly and her life with us. And for understanding how much she meant to all of us.
