Posted: Friday, November 11, 2011

The third annual Life Long Learning Career Fair was held on Thursday, November 10 at Huntington North High School. The information presented at the fair enables freshmen and other invited students from the high school to make career choices while in high school and take the appropriate classes.

Eleven different careers were featured in individual booths called “career pods” with those experienced in the particular field available to talk with the 500 plus students visiting the fair. The fields presented in the pods included agriculture, arts and communication, building and construction, education and training, health services, financial services, manufacturing and science engineering, marketing and sales, public safety and security, social and recreational services, and transportation. Each student participating also explored the “soft skills” such as team work, dependability, reliability, motivation, customer focus, commitment, flexibility, communication, and responsibility.
