Career Day scheduled for Thursday, November 1

Posted: Thursday, October 11, 2018

The tenth annual Life Long Learning Career Day will be held on Thursday, November 1 at Huntington North High School. This year’s event will be held in the Fieldhouse, and will include all eighth grade and freshmen students.

The information presented at Career Day enables eighth grade and freshmen students to help make career choices and take the appropriate classes. This year students from eighth grade will be on hand to help them make those class choices once they enter high school.

Twelve different careers will be featured in individual booths called “career pods” with those experienced in the particular field available to talk with the 800 plus students visiting the day. The fields presented in the pods include agriculture, architecture and construction, arts, AV technology and communication, business and marketing, education and training, health science, hospitality and human services, information technology, STEM, manufacturing, public safety and transportation. Each student that participates will also explore the “soft skills” such as team work, dependability, reliability, motivation, customer focus, commitment, flexibility, communication and responsibility.
