Business EXPO takes place March 17 &18

The Chamber of Commerce will hold the semi-annual Huntington County Business EXPO on Saturday, March 17 and Sunday, March 18 in the Fieldhouse of the Merillat Center for Physical Education on the campus of Huntington University. The hours of the EXPO for Saturday are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with doors opening at 8:30 a.m. for the Kiwanis breakfast, and Sunday, 12 to 4 p.m. Admission is free.

A pancake breakfast, sponsored by the Kiwanis Clubs of Huntington, will begin the event on Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. The cost for the breakfast including pancakes, sausage, bacon and milk is $1 and it will conclude at 10 a.m. A food court will be open throughout the event with a variety of vendors serving food and beverages.

Over 100 exhibitors will showcase their businesses in individual booths at the EXPO, and grand prize drawings will take place for two Allegiant Air tickets to anywhere Allegiant flies in the U.S., a 40” JVC widescreen TV with Blue Ray player provided by Edward Jones and a one-year membership to Parkview Huntington Hospital’s Fitness Center. Over 50 additional gifts and prizes will also be awarded over the weekend.

Entertainment for the weekend is sponsored by Star Excavating. Saturday’s performances begin with Miss Huntington, Mindi Hoffman, at 11 a.m. with The Classics (Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra) following, presenting “The Ultimate Oldies Review,” beginning at Noon and concluding at 4 p.m. The Joy Pleaser Clowns will also be entertaining the crowd throughout Saturday.

Sunday’s entertainment begins at 1 p.m. with the Northwest and Roanoke School choirs presenting “Disney Kids.” The Lincoln Elementary School Voices of Pride will perform at 2 p.m. and the Flint Springs Elementary School Falconears will wrap up the afternoon’s entertainment with a 3 p.m. show. The Backstage Clowns will entertain throughout the afternoon on Sunday.
