Boys and Girls Club Dinner scheduled

The Boys & Girls Club of Huntington will hold the seventh annual Steak & Burger Dinner on Tuesday, April 24 at Crestview Middle School. This tradition consists of Club youth eating steaks with their dinners and the adults eating hamburgers.

Bippus State Bank and MarkleBank are the main sponsors for the 2012 event. A silent auction will start at 5:30 p.m.; with the entertainment and dinner beginning at 6:30 p.m. Seth Marshall will serve as this year’s emcee.

The guest speaker for the evening will be the Associate Professor of Digital Media Arts at Huntington University, Bryan Ballinger. His specialty is in the design and illustration work of digital media including 3D CGI skills in modeling, texturing, lighting and animation. He has more than 13 years of experience in this area focusing on graphics for CD-ROM titles, web, film, video and print.

Professor Ballinger earned his B.F.A. in Illustration from the Columbus College of Art and Design and finished his M.F.A. from Lesley University in June 2006. He was a freelance illustrator with clients such as Microsoft, Nintendo, Disney and Harley Davidson3D and a designer for five years at Big Idea Productions, the creators of VeggieTales. Before that, Professor Ballinger spent six years as a Senior Designer and Illustrator at the Microsoft Corporation where he was awarded a patent for development of multimedia buttons. Professor Ballinger’s work has been included in the book “Drawing Inspiration,” Phil Fischer’s “What’s in the Bible” DVDs and the VeggieTales book, “God Loves You Very Much.”

Tickets can be purchased at the Boys & Girls Club and/or from board members. The cost is $50 per ticket or $250 for a table of 6. Those interested in donating a silent auction item, please contact the Club at 359-1750.
