Boy Scout Golf Tournament to be held on June 8

Posted: Thursday, March 29, 2018

The 39th Annual Charity Open Boy Scout Golf Tournament, presented by Steel Dynamics, is scheduled for Friday, June 8, at Autumn Ridge Country Club in Fort Wayne. Registration and lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m., shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. and awards presentation and dinner to follow, around 5:30 p.m. The Boy Scouts estimate there will be around 140 players in the Florida Scramble format.

The scouts are requesting that participants consider a corporate/player sponsorship. Participation in this year’s tournament is an investment in preparing youth to overcome the challenges of tomorrow, and to be successful in their personal and professional life. Scouting is an adventure, full of exciting discoveries that build more capable young people, who will lead our community through tested leadership, achievement, character, service and stewardship. The Anthony Wayne Area Council serves over 5,300 youth across the 11 county service area: Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Jay, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wells and Whitley Counties. Eagle Sponsorship, $1,500, is one of the most popular sponsorships.

Included in this sponsorship is a one team golf foursome, corporate logo on official Boy Scout tournament banner at registration/check-in, tee or green sponsorship, special recognition in the Tournament Awards dinner program and mention on all tournament promotional materials. Also included is promotion in the Council newsletter; AWAC News, emailed monthly to 1,500 volunteers in the 11 northeast Indiana counties; and four Super Tickets.

Additional corporate/player sponsorships are available ranging from $250 to $4,000. “Super Tickets” are included in the sponsorship for each player that includes a chance to win $100,000, scratch off game to win a vacation package, door prize drawing, several on course contests, two mulligans, three yards of putt saver tape and coupons. Lunch, dinner and all on-course beverages are included. Please see the brochure here for more information on specific sponsorship opportunities.

Last year the net revenue from the golf tournament was over $36,000, and the goal is to raise over $45,000 this year. For more information contact Chuck Walker at (260) 432-9593, ext. 245, or
