Bookworm to begin making stops in October

Posted: Friday, September 27, 2019

The Huntington City-Township Public Library has partnered with the Huntington County Community School Corporation to breathe life into the Bookworm bookmobile again this fall. Starting October 1, the Bookworm will make monthly stops around the city of Huntington so residents of all ages can borrow items a bit closer to home.

The Bookworm will be stocked with books and movies for all ages, and anyone with a Huntington City-Township Public Library card can check out up to five items per visit. The items can be returned the next time the bookmobile stops by, which makes borrowing items from the library easier for those with unreliable transportation. Residents will also be able to sign up for library cards at the various bookmobile stops – just make sure to bring proof of current address and a photo I.D. when visiting.

The stops are as follows (with October dates in parenthesis): every first Tuesday (October 1) at Memorial Park, 1200 W. Park Drive; every first Thursday (October 3) at the United Brethren Headquarters, 302 Lake Street; every second Tuesday (October 8) at the Youth Services Bureau, 1344 Maple Drive; and every third Tuesday (October 15) at Hier’s Park, 547 S. Briant Street. A fifth stop is in the works, as well, and will start at a later date. All stops will be from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
