Board positions available in Huntington County

The Huntington County Commissioners are seeking individuals that may be interested in sitting on the following boards. Please pick up an application at the Commissioners’ Office, or online at www.huntington.in.us/county and return by Thursday, October 2 at 4:30 p.m. All appointments are done voluntarily.

Huntington City-Township Public Library: One position is open for this board. The candidate must live within the library district, which includes the City of Huntington, Huntington Township and/or part of the town of Markle. Opening is for the remainder of the term to expire 12/31/17. The standard term is four years.

Town of Roanoke Plan Commission: Interested individuals must be a resident of the Town of Roanoke Extraterritorial Jurisdiction or reside in Huntington County and own property in the Roanoke Extraterritorial Jurisdiction, of non-Republican political affiliation, and may not hold any elected or appointed office. Opening is for the remainder of the term to expire 12/31/16. The standard term is four years.

Board of Electrical Examiners: One appointment is open. Must be a citizen of Huntington County; opening is for the remainder of the term to expire 12/31/2014, but may be considered for reappointment in 2015. The standard term is one year.

Community Corrections Board: One appointment is open. Must be a citizen of Huntington County; opening is for the remainder of the term to expire 06/30/2016. The standard term is four years.
