Bippus State Bank employees give back

Posted: Friday, December 16, 2011

Bippus State Bank employees are given the option to wear jeans to work each Friday through out the year for a $2 donation. This money is then used throughout the year to give back to those who are less fortunate.

Bippus State Bank contributed $700 to Love INC’s Back-to-School Fair in August, purchasing jeans and other clothing items. During the Christmas season, BSB adopts families through Love INC with this money. This year Bippus State Bank was able to give $645 to adopt and purchase meals for six families, and purchase and wrap gifts for the 17 children in these families.

BSB employees volunteer their time to shop for and wrap these gifts. An additional $300 was used to purchase gifts for The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree and Teen Stuff-A-Stocking programs, and BSB offices hosted collection boxes for both the teen program and their canned goods drive.  The bank also donated $1,000 to Love INC’s food pantry. Being a community bank, Bippus State Bank is proud to be able to give back and support the community during this special time of year.

Pictured in the photo above are Dawn Downs and Jeana McElhaney, two of the many Bippus State Bank employees, who volunteered to shop for gifts and meals for the families adopted through Love INC.  The gifts and food were delivered to Love INC on Wednesday, December 7.
