Bicycle Challenge a community success

The Huntington Bicycle Challenge sponsored by Markle Health and Rehabilitation took place Saturday, September 15. Over 150 participants enjoyed bicycling on five different road courses. There were over 80 business team competitors and 75 scenic tour riders. Approximately $7,000 was raised in profits that will benefit two causes: Pathfinder Services to assist teenagers with developmental disabilities with scholarships to attend summer camp and Parkview Home Health & Hospice’s quality, end-of-life care for the terminally ill.

The winners of the Business Team Challenge 27 mile course are as follows. The first place team was Team 3RVS from Three Rivers VeloSport which included team members Jeff Kenny, Matt Misner, Kirby Moss, Steven Pequignot, Hugh Smith, and Patrick Stelte. The second place team was IHOP First Federal which included team members Ian Hope, James Levine, Brad Mills, Greg Ness, Craig Reynolds and Scott Womack. The third place team was the Rea Rockets from Rea Magnet Wire Company which included team members Bruce Cattell, Keith Caudill, Don Golden, John Haydock, Ryan Waybright and Tim Zumbaugh.

The Huntington Bicycle Challenge would like to thank all of the sponsors of the event including title sponsor Markle Health and Rehabilitation.
