Beacon Credit Union awards donations

Posted: Friday, October 28, 2011

Beacon Credit Union recently awarded the Malta House Men’s Emergency Boarding House, the Huntington Free Health Clinic and the Historic Forks of the Wabash Park with donations as part of its charitable giving promotion Project Spotlight. Beacon donated a total of $1,750 in each of the 11 counties in northeast Indiana where Beacon branches are located.

The Malta House Men’s Emergency Boarding House received $1,000 in donation from Beacon while the Huntington County Free Clinic received $500. The Historic Forks of the Wabash Park was awarded $250.

Residents in Huntington County were asked to submit local charitable organizations and community projects in the area through Project Spotlight. The community members were then asked to vote both online and in Beacon Credit Union for their favorite cause. Grants were awarded to the charities receiving the highest vote totals.

Project Spotlight was designed with the hope that individuals and organizations would be inspired to reach out and serve those living and working around them. The grand total in charitable donations by Beacon was $19,250.
