"Beach Party" fundraiser scheduled October 21

Roanoke’s Cottage Event Center will be transformed musically to the Caribbean on Friday, October 21 with the “Trop Rock” sounds of duo Two Dudes in Flip Flops. The event, being labeled a “Beach Party” (where attendees are encouraged to wear Hawaiian shirts), is a fundraiser for the Roanoke Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization, in conjunction with the Roanoke Kiwanis Club.

Two Dudes in Flip Flops is comprised of Michigan based brothers Greg and Jeff Grossenbacher. Their island infused sound draws heavily from artists like Jimmy Buffet, Bob Marley and Harry Belafonte, plus country performers like Kenny Chesney and Zac Brown. The duo features Greg Grossenbacher on guitar and vocals, with Jeff playing Steel Drum.

Tickets are $12 and may be purchased by phone at (260) 483-3508, or with PayPal at; tickets are also available at John’s Meat Market in Roanoke. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30 p.m. A cash bar will be available, along with food for purchase from “The Wagu Wagon.” The event is sponsored by Spokesmen Cycling of Huntington.

The Cottage Event Center is located at 9524 US 24 N (at Locust) in Roanoke. The venue is owned and operated by Hamilton Hospitality Group LLC. Other upcoming events at the venue include their Toys for Tots Holiday Concert December 2, starring Shannon Persinger & The Eric Clancy Trio, and the return of the New Year’s Eve Comedy Mystery Dinner Theater performance by Bower North Productions.
