Beach Party for Riley, Friday, September 25

Posted: Friday, August 28, 2015

Roanoke’s Cottage Event Center will be transformed musically to the Caribbean on Friday, September 25 with the “Trop Rock” sounds of duo Two Dudes in Flipflops.  The event, being labeled a “Beach Party” (where attendees are encouraged to wear Hawaiian shirts), is a fundraiser for Riley Hospital for Children.

The Two Dudes in Flipflops are Michigan based brothers Greg and Jeff Grossenbacher. Their island infused sound draws heavily from artists like Jimmy Buffet, Bob Marley and Harry Belafonte, plus country performers like Kenny Chesney and Zac Brown.  The duo features Greg Grossenbacher on guitar and vocals, with Jeff playing Steel Drums.

Tickets are $10 and may be purchased by phone at (260) 483-3508, or with PayPal at cottageeventcenter.com. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 7:30 p.m. A cash bar will be available, along with food for purchase from 1024 Catering. The event is sponsored by First Federal Savings Bank of Huntington, Stifel Nicolaus Broker Tim Rooney, and RE/MAX Realtor Karen McMcFarren.

Indiana’s first and only comprehensive pediatric hospital, Riley Hospital for Children has over 245,000 patients visit annually, inpatient and outpatient. Closely affiliated with the Indiana University Medical School, Riley serves patients from every county in the state of Indiana. Known for its family-centered environment and cutting edge research, Riley is nationally ranked in all ten of its pediatric categories. The hospital’s philanthropic partner, The Riley Children’s Foundation, ensures that no child is ever turned away from care because of financial need. The concert is the Cottage Event Center’s third fundraiser for Riley.
