BBGW law firm awards annual scholarships

The Huntington County law firm of Bowers, Brewer, Garrett & Wiley, LLP has announced the winners of their 2021 educational scholarships.  Arianna Betterly received the James W. Bowers Scholarship in honor of the late James W. Bowers.  Grace Gross, Connor Miller and Hannah Warpup also received scholarships to be used toward their continuing education.

Arianna Betterly, left, is the daughter of Anne Betterly and Ken Betterly, Huntington, and will be majoring in Media Productions at Indiana University with a minor in Dance Performance. Arianna has been active at Huntington North High School in Class Council, Student Council, Cheerleading, Track and the Freshman Mentor Program.  She has also been involved with Blessings in a Backpack, Youth for Christ, Church Nursery Volunteer and participated in the community wide clean up.

Grace Gross, second from left, is the daughter of Tom and Jenny Gross, Roanoke, and plans to major in Business Administration with a minor in Pre-Law at Grace College. Grace has been involved at Huntington North High School in the National Honor Society, Student Athletic Board, Class Council and Sources of Strength, along with participating in basketball, track and soccer.  She has also been involved in 4-H, Blessings in a Backpack, Vacation Bible School, Praise Team, Riley Dance Marathon, Destiny Rescue, soccer and basketball clinics.

Connor Miller, second from right, is the son of David and Diane Miller, Warren, and plans to attend Trine University and major in Design Engineer Technology.   At Huntington North, Connor has been active in Cross Country and Track and Field, Student Athletic Board and Signs of Suicide.  He has also been a Basketball Coach at Warren Civic Center, and has volunteered at the National Auto and Trade Museum and is a Deacon at Warren Church of Christ.

Hannah Warpup, right, is the daughter of Brian and Nicole Warpup, Warren, and plans to attend Ball State University majoring in Entrepreneurial Management with a minor in Communications.  While at Huntington North, Hannah been a member of Class Council, National Honor Society, Cheerleading and the Freshman Mentor Program.  She has also participated in 4-H, been involved with the youth group, pre-school teacher and Vacation Bible School at Markle Church of Christ, and went on a missions trip to Northern Ireland.  She has also volunteered with Angel Tree, IDES Food Packing, Markle Community Service and Forgotten Children Worldwide.
