BBGW award annual scholarships

The Huntington County law firm of Bowers, Brewer, Garrett & Wiley, LLP has announced the winners of their 2020 educational scholarships. Bailey Godfrey, Aiden Hosler, Katie Melcher and Corbin Snow received scholarships to be used toward their continuing education.

Bailey Godfrey, left, is the daughter of Brett Godfrey and Cynthia Godfrey, Huntington, and will be majoring in biochemistry and molecular biology in college. Bailey has been active at Huntington North High School in cheerleading, National Honor Society, French Club, Varsity Brass, Freshman Mentoring and was a member of the Riley Dance Marathon team. She has studied abroad in France and played the flute and piccolo in the Purdue-Fort Wayne Three Rivers Honor Band.

Aiden Hosler, second from left, is the son of Ryan and Kriston Hosler, Huntington, and plans to major in elementary education and minor in exercise science at the University of St. Francis. Hosler has been involved at Huntington North High School with soccer, football, basketball and baseball, was a member of the Student Athletic Board, Class Council, Educators Rising and Education Professionals, as well as being a Peer Tutor and Student Radio Broadcaster. He has also been involved with Bible Baptist Church Youth Group and attended two mission trips with the youth group, Blessings in a Backpack, volunteer basketball coach, baseball umpire, PAL football official, Campus Life, 4-H, and was a Junior Rotarian.

Katie Melcher, second from right, is the daughter of Matt and Gayle Melcher, Roanoke, and plans to attend the University of St. Francis majoring in exercise science with a minor as a physical therapist assistant. At Huntington North High School, Katie has been active in class council, soccer, softball, Freshman Mentoring, Student Athletic Board and the Riley Dance Marathon. She has also participated in Blessings in a Backpack, 4-H, 4-H Junior Leaders and was a Junior Rotarian.

Corbin Snow, right, is the son of Craig Snow and Deeda Leffert of Markle. Snow plans to attend Purdue University majoring in chemical engineering. Snow was involved with bowling and was a member of the National Honor Society. He has also been involved with the Master’s Pantry Food Bank and Karing for Kids.
