ATI Physical Therapy opens in Huntington

Posted: Friday, July 5, 2019

ATI Physical Therapy recently opened in Huntington. The business is located at 231 Hauenstein Road along with Starbucks and TCC Verizon Authorized Dealer.

Cory Fornal, PT, DPT, is the clinic director and therapist, bringing five years of experience with him, the last three at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

ATI or Athletic Therapeutic Institute began in Willowbrook, Illinois in 1996, and has expanded its operation now to 26 states with more than 1,000 clinics, specializing in physical therapy and rehabilitation for individual purposes and workers compensation. One aspect that makes ATI unique, Fornal notes, is that the clinics also offer work “hardening,” which is an extensive rehab designed to not only get a person back to working condition, but also decreases chances of an injury recurring.

Fornal notes ATI works on providing individual treatment plans for every patient, and can usually get appointments within 48 hours. The clinics even offer a free 15-minute injury screening. ATI also accepts most any insurance.

Fornal earned a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science and human biology from the University of Indianapolis in 2011, and earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2014. His continuing education courses have helped expand his knowledge of functional movement assessments, orthopedic pathologies, joint mobilizations and specialized training for Parkinson’s disease.

His clinical experience includes sports medicine, pre and postoperative care, non-operative care and neurological care.

Fornal grew up in Rochester but now lives in Warren with his wife and two children. The office phone number is (260) 355-5243. The ATI website can be seen at
